I have taught in a lot of places-- from San Quentin State Prison to Collier Heights Elementary School to KIPP WAYS Academy to the Program in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies and the Department of African American Studies at Yale University to the program in Queer Studies at S arah Lawrence College. These days I teach on Columbia University's faculty as Assistant Professor of Anthropology. There, my courses include Zora, Ethnographies of Black Life, Toxic, Porous Bodies, Object Histories and the department’s gateway course: Interpretation(s) of Culture.
